Refund & Cancellation Policy

Last updated: 3 August 2026

Everything sold in the Danbury & Lovejoy shop is a digital download — printable planners, almanacs and guides supplied as PDF files. There is nothing to post back, so this policy explains your cancellation rights, your rights if something is wrong with a file, and how to get a refund. It sits alongside our Terms & Conditions.

Nothing in this policy affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

Your 14-day right to cancel

When you buy digital content online you normally have 14 days to change your mind and cancel for a full refund, without giving a reason.

There is one important exception, and it applies to most orders here. At checkout you are asked to confirm two things before you pay:

  • that you want your download made available immediately, rather than waiting 14 days; and
  • that you understand you lose your right to cancel once the download has begun.

If you tick that box and your file is delivered, the 14-day cancellation right no longer applies to that order. This is what the law allows, and it is the only way we can give you your file straight away instead of making you wait a fortnight.

If your download has not yet been made available — for example the order failed, or delivery is still pending — the full 14-day cancellation right stands. Email us and we will cancel and refund in full.

Losing the right to cancel is not the same as losing your right to a refund if something is wrong. That is covered next.

If something is wrong with your download

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to a repair or replacement, and to a refund if that cannot be done within a reasonable time or without significant inconvenience.

In practice, we will refund you in full, no questions asked, if:

  • the download link did not work and we could not get a working file to you;
  • the file is corrupted, incomplete, or will not open;
  • the file is materially different from what the shop page described;
  • you were charged twice, or charged for something you did not order.

Please try the download link in your confirmation email first, and check your spam folder — most problems are a delivery hiccup we can fix in minutes.

Goodwill refunds

We are a small independent publisher and we would rather you were happy than hold on to a few pounds. If you bought something that genuinely is not what you hoped for, write to us within 30 days of purchase and tell us why. We will usually refund it. This is a goodwill practice on top of your legal rights, not a replacement for them, and we may decline it where there is evidence of misuse.

Free downloads

Some items in the shop are free. No payment is taken, so there is nothing to refund — but if a free download will not open, tell us and we will fix it.

How to request a refund

Email [email protected] with your order number (it is in your confirmation email) and a line about what went wrong. You do not need a special form, and you do not need to explain yourself for a cancellation made within the 14-day window.

Email is much the fastest way to reach us, but you can write to us if you prefer:

Gareth Isherwood, trading as Danbury & Lovejoy
Flat B, 4 The Boundary
Seaford
East Sussex BN25 1DG
United Kingdom

You do not have to use any particular form of words to cancel. Telling us clearly that you want to cancel, by email or by post, is enough.

We aim to reply within two working days. Approved refunds are made within 14 days of us accepting the cancellation or claim, to the original payment method. Your bank or card issuer may take a few further days to show it.

Licence and re-use

Downloads are licensed for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may print as many copies as you like for yourself and your household. Please do not resell, redistribute, or share the files publicly. A refund ends your licence to use the file.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled a refund, reply to our email and say so — it comes straight to the editor and we will look at it again. You can also get free, impartial advice from Citizens Advice consumer service on 0808 223 1133.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
